Special offer for the marathon & ultra runners at the Ghent Marathon! Everyone can hand in extra food and drinks at the start, to tent “special needs” on the parking of the Topsporthal, and this at the latest at 8am! Our organization drops it with pleasure for you at the special tables on the nine supply points. Please put your drinking bottles and food in a sealed bag / per desired supply zone with clear marking of your name and indication of what supply zone so that you can easily find it there.

These supply zones are only for the runners. Think about who comes after you: the last runners are also entitled to their stock of water / sports drinks, a piece of banana and energy bars. Note: throw your waste in the appropriate containers a.u.b.! In cooperation with our partner IVAGO we aim for the cleanest running event in the world, we count on your support!

At each supply station the position of the last refuse container will be clearly indicated. We walk through a lot of nature and therefore strongly request the participants and spectators not to leave any waste outside the supply posts.
All distances have a flat course. Since there are a number of motorways, train connections and waterways in the immediate vicinity of the start and arrival places, we still have to cross a bridge over and / or tunnel through them.
The paved areas consist mainly of traffic-calmed, quiet rural roads, the unpaved from easily accessible field and nature trails. Muddy “trail states” do not occur at all.

We provide pace makers (pacers) for the next arrival times of the marathon: 2h59 – 3h15 – 3h30 – 3h45 – 3h59 – 4h15 – 4h30 – 4h45 – 4h59

For the half marathon: 1h25 – 1h30 – 1h40 – 1h50 – 2h00 – 2h10 – 2h20 – 2h30

The time limit for marathon runners is 6 hours. On the orders of the police, the roads will be reopened to traffic on the basis of a pace of 7min49 / km. Those who walk slower are removed from the competition. You can continue the course at your own risk, but you must comply with the traffic rules.

Runners with a dog are more than welcome with us. Especially on the half and full marathon. Just send an email to the organization in advance to register your four-legged friend. We do ask to start at the very end, this to hinder as few other runners as possible. Keep your dog on the line the whole match. After all, good agreements make good (animal) friends.

No bicycle guides are allowed on the course.
